This might come as a surprise, but it’s the best BBQ Brisket’s I ever had so far. Lucille’s doesn’t compare to it and the only one that comes close, surprisingly, is the Brisket I had @ Sea World. Ribs are good, I’ve had better. BBQ sauces are good also, i think they have 3 different kinds. Potato Salad was light and yummy and cornbread was good too. Fried Pickles are also a welcoming surprise to your pallet. Bro n Sis tells me their burger are awesome, but I’ve never had em. I’m not the type to order a burger @ a BBQ joint la la la. lol

Spot: Tea Station
Hood: Gardena (or as my friends and I call it, Gundena)
Great place to study and open late. Nice place for a simple date or even a post-dinner date spot. Great quality boba/tea, but it’s hella pricy. I like the basics, Coffee w/ Boba or Milk Tea w/ Boba. I’ve also had their Taro, Mango, Rose teas. Food is also good. Eel w/ rice I think, is their best dish. Chicken Cutlet w/ curry is pretty good too. Beef wrap is a little salty, but you can’t go wrong with popcorn chicken. If you’re looking for a quick boba fix, without spending so much, i suggest you just hit up your local, Blenders, Bobaloca, Lollicup, Yarn, etc.

Spot: Golden Pheasant
Hood: Torrance
Me and my family like to have Sunday dinner together. One of our local go-to spots is Golden Pheasant on Carson St. I often forget the names on the menu, but the waiter pretty much knows what we want when we give him a certain description. My brother and I always get the Steak and Mushroom w/ Blackbean Sauce on a Sizzling Plate (something like that, it’s a special posted on the wall on a pink carbon paper with black sharpie stencil skillz). We also order the Salt and Pepper Pork Chop. My dad likes the Pan Fried Noodles w/ Chicken. Sister usually goes for the Salt n Pepper Squid or some type of fish dish. The last time we went, she had the Kung Pao Chicken which was really good. Mom on the other hands gets very complicated. As many times as we’ve been to this place or any other places we frequent, she always has a tough time ordering. It seems like she goes through the menu 500 times before she’s ready to order. She usually orders Fish in a Hot Pot with Ginger or the Fried Scallops. Last Sunday, she ordered the Fried Flounder.

Tumblrgin
My very 1st blog and it’s about food. Go figure. I like to eat. I enjoy great food, whether it be at a restaurant, home cooked or from someone who set up shop in the street corner. I enjoy eating with my family and with friends. What else do you enjoy with family & friends? Booze! Hence the URL: familyfriendsfoodbooze. Don’t get me wrong, I can enjoy a meal by myself. I’ve had many lunches/ dinners where I played the role of the creepy looking dude on the counter eating by himself =P You’ll also find a lot of lol’s, la la la’s, hahaha’s and smileys =) at the end of my sentences, if you dont like it, tough shit. Referring to myself as Beast in the third person will also be common. That has been my nickname since middle school, dont ask why lol. These little nuances bring more life to the blog. I believe it’s more enjoyable when you discover/share good food with others. Besides eating out, I do enjoy cooking, so you’ll run into some of my creations. I will travel many miles just to have a good meal, so feel free to suggest “spots” and I WILL try it.
I like taking pictures of them and sharing them w/people, it’s MY thing. I have tons of pictures of food from my Blackberry. I didn’t know how or where to arrange them, I usually just post them on Facebook and that’s that. I got the thinkin’ that they needed their own home, so here we are on Tumblr. Some pics might be added to older posts as I find them in my computer. I was having a tough time thinking of how to arrange the pics to this blog, but i figured, FOOD is TIMELESS so here you go, in no particular order. More to come but I’m hungry. LETS GO EAT!
